Buying business - what's involved

Why anyone would want ot buy a business? What do I actually buy, the athmosphere, the reputation, the customers, the cash flow? Can I really buy all those things? I've just listed some of the questions any business buyer sould ask him or herself before even thinking of the first step in that direction
